Terasit AP

Terasit AP should be applied using the immersion/roll-on method as the last rinse bath in a washer extractor. Terasit AP may only be added after the liquor level has been reached and the drum has started to move.Terasit AP is applied in a single bath. Before impregnation, the cleaned textiles must be carefully rinsed to remove all detergent and alkali residues, as even small amounts of surfactants or detergents can lead to a deterioration in the effect.It is advisable to add approx. 1 ml / l of acetic acid 60 % to the last rinse bath to ensure that the fabric no longer contains any alkali. Terasit AP is diluted with 3 - 5 times the amount of water at 30 - 50 °C while stirring. High shear forces should be avoided, as the emulsion can be irreversibly damaged.This stock solution is then added to the treatment liquor while stirring. The treatment bath is rinsed with acetic acid or formic acid pH 4 - 5.

30 - 40 ml / l are required to impregnate garments. The liquor temperature can be increased to 50 °C for materials that are difficult to wet. The normal temperature is between 20 and 40 °C. The garment is treated in the impregnation liquor for 20 - 30 minutes, spun off only briefly, dried (please note the care label!) and ironed as usual (iron at approx. 150 °C). For large pieces of fabric (tent and car tarpaulins), impregnation can be carried out by applying a 40 - 60 ml / l Terasit AP solution to the fabric using a spray gun, brush, sponge or roller. When working on standing baths, the initial concentration must be topped up (30 - 40 ml / l).
